The #MazeRunner Movie

Standard

So I’ve never read The Maze Runner book, when hubby said he wanted to go see it, it took me a minute to even figure out what he was talking about. Once I saw the preview to refresh my mind, I finally got it!

If I could compare this movie for the people who, like me, have never read the book, I would say that the Maze Runner is like if Goonies + The Hunger Game had a baby and raised them in the mansion of Resident Evil…it would be The Maze Runner.

The Maze Runner movie website states:

When Thomas wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape. Based upon the best-selling novel by James Dashner.

Overall it was pretty good, not quite jump out of my seat good, but I am excited to see the next installment. I kind of feel the way I felt when I watched the first Hunger Games. Slow build up and now I can’t get enough of it. Like the name implies, it has a lot of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. I can definitely see a franchise coming out of this and can’t wait to see where Thomas and the Crew lead us through the labyrinth.

Check it out for yourself, but if you’re not convince, wait until it comes out on DVD, RedBox or onDemand.
