Recipe Box: 3 Yummy Smoothies


When I first started on my fitness journey some four years ago, the only smoothies I wanted to drink were the sugary ones at Planet Smoothie. As I learned to eat better and then became a part of the smoothie explosion, I’ve been experimenting with different smoothie recipes. Some were delicious, while others were gross! Even when I had to relinquish my membership to the gym, it was a smoothie a day that kept the extra weight off.

3 Yummy Smoothies: Green Monster, Blueberry Madness, Orange-ya Glad via SOAinspired

After trial and error, I have started to create some really awesome recipes for smoothies. Whether you are trying to be fit or simply trying to make sure you get all the nutrients you need daily, check out three of my awesome smoothie recipes below…and of course, be inspired and make them your own!

Green Monster

– 3 large handfuls of kale leaves (off the stalk)

– 1/2 green (Granny Smith) apple

– 1 overripe kiwi

-1/2 cucumber

– 1 can coconut water

– 1 cup of chopped pears

– 1/4 aloe vera water/ juice

– dash of Parsley

Blueberry Madness

– 1 cup of frozen blueberries

– 1 mango (cut up)

– 1/4 cup Pomegranate juice (PomWonderful)

– 1/2 cup coconut water

– 1/2 cup aloe vera water

– 1/2 cup white peaches

– couple sprigs of fresh mint

Orange-ya Glad

– 3 raw carrots (steamed or boiled to soften)

– 1/2 cup orange juice

– 1 mango chopped

– 1/2 cup aloe vera water

– 1/4  cup coconut water


In a blender or juicer, combine ingredients for desired smoothie and blend until smooth.

To make creamier add almond milk instead of coconut water.

To make juicier, add 1/2 cup distilled or purified water.

For added benefits, add a scoop of your favorite protein and multi-vitamin powder.
