It’s finally consistently warm!!! *throws confetti*
Well…at least if you live in Atlanta…where we can safely start saying hotlanta now.
One of the great things about consistent Spring weather and the impending Summer weather is that BBQs and chicken wings are a huge thing.
Certainly, you can get away with some traditional flavors like Southern fried, Honey BBQ, or Mild, but why not spice it up with a little added flavor with my recipe for Barbecue Pineapple wings.

Regular sized party wings
Cayenne pepper (optional)
Olive oil or vegetable oil (for frying)
3/4 cup Your favorite tangy BBQ sauce
1/4 can of sliced pineapples crushed OR fresh pineapples cubed then crushed (extra pineapples for cooking)
Preheat oven to 350°
In a large bowl cover wings liberally with spices and massage together.
In a large skillet or FryDaddy, add 1-1 1/2 cups of oil. At this step, you can either pan fry your chicken wings until just crispy or you can drop them into the fryer until crispy, it just depends on your preference.
Cook chicken wings, turning to ensure even frying for about 8-10 minutes until dark brown or until internal temperature is 165° for dark meat or 160° for white meat.
Drain on a plate covered with napkins (hey…we’re simple over here) for about 5 minutes.
In a medium sauce pan, mix together BBQ sauce, juice of the pineapples and a 1/4 cup of crushed pineapples. Let cool for about 2 minutes and add chicken wings, turning to coat completely.
Once all wings are thoroughly coated, place into a glass baking dish and coat with remaining sauce mixture.
Place into oven for about 15 minutes.
Let cool for 7 minutes and Enjoy!
